Community award
The Australian Community Person of the Year is among the three most prestigious Australian Surrogacy and Donor Award recognitions. It honours an individual who has significantly impacted or contributed to the Australian surrogacy or donation community.
The nominee must be nominated and a winner of one of the state-based community person awards:
The nominee must meet the eligibility criteria to participate in the award. The Australian Surrogacy and Donor Awards aims to celebrate the contributions and achievements of people and businesses fairly and equitably. Each award has its eligibility criteria that must be met.
Eligibility criteria
The nominee must be nominated for and a winner of one of the state-based community person awards:
Nominees will be notified after nominations have closed.
The public will vote for nominees on the Australian Surrogacy and Donor Awards website.
Nominees will be judged and shortlisted as a finalist. The number of finalists will depend on the quality and quantity of nominations.
Judges will decide the winner of the award from the shortlist of finalists.
Not all nominees will become finalists.
What you need to know about the judging criteria…
- The judging of nominees and finalists will be based on the information provided in the nomination form and the nominee nomination acceptance.
- Australian Surrogacy and Donor Awards reserves the right to transfer a nominee into another award category if it believes the nominee would be more appropriately assessed in that category.
- Judges will consider each nominee’s contribution and whether the nominee has exceeded the community and industry’s expectations.

Public votes open: Monday 7 September 2025
Public votes close: Thursday 9 October 2025
Finalist notification: Monday 13 October 2025
