Michael Liu
Surrogacy Person of the Year
About
I am the Chief of Staff to ACT Minister for Human Rights, Tara Cheyne MLA. I led the community and sector engagement in advocating for inclusivity in surrogacy laws, ensuring greater accessibility for Intended Parents and supporting ongoing improvements in surrogacy legislation.
Contribution
Michael played a crucial role in developing and passing the Parentage (Surrogacy) Amendment Bill 2023, which removed barriers to altruistic surrogacy in the ACT. Michael has been instrumental in shaping surrogacy reform in the ACT, making it more accessible to diverse family structures.
